Hi, I'm Lauren

As a mother of four I’ve learned that the best way to mother is your way. We'll work together to create a plan that best suits your needs.

My Story

I am a mother of four children, one girl and three boys. I have been a mother for over a decade and have had many highs and lows throughout my experience. I struggled with motherhood. I loved it, but I struggled. Little did I know, those struggles would lead me to realize my dream of helping other mothers realize how strong they can be.

A major struggle I dealt with was a baby that didn’t sleep, a reality that is all too common. I had my own expectations of “how a baby should be”, but took a while to learn that that was not my reality or how my baby was going to be. I fought against myself, felt very uncertain and struggled with knowing how to get out of the house and even how to eat and care for myself. I was exhausted and at my wits end.

I kept my feelings hidden for a long time, and tried to “power through”, until I finally realized I needed to take care of myself first, so my baby (and other children) could have the best of me.

With each pregnancy I discovered what was “my way” of caring for and dealing with my babies.  This became easier as I started to let the “shoulds” go.  By my third postpartum, I realized I needed help.

I am so grateful that I was able to have my mom stay with us for three weeks. It gave me the opportunity to learn a better understanding of what my postpartum was and what having a new baby entailed.  I was more rested, physically and mentally, giving me a whole new and more positive experience of early motherhood.

I realize how lucky I was to be able to have family help me during this time, however it made me question – what about those mothers who don’t have that circle of support? Who don’t have that “village” that they say it takes to raise a child?

My hope is to help other moms so they can have a jumpstart they deserve.  Time to rest, time to relax, time to heal.  Someone to talk to, someone to just “be there”, someone who understands and genuinely wants to help.  I want moms to know that they are not alone, that what they could be feeling is completely normal.  I want moms to know that they deserve time for themselves too.  Being a mom is amazing (the best thing that ever happened to me), but we need time for ourselves.  Just for us.

I am pleased to bring my personal life experience, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Doula Certification to aid the mothers  of Perth County, Stratford, Listowel and Surrounding Areas.

Let’s work together to ensure you are seen and accepted as the mother you are, mothering your way.
